Fee Structure

Our Fees

Our eligibility check is completely free. There is no charge for using our referral service, and you will never pay us directly.

If we refer you to one of our panel partners — an FCA-authorised claims management company or an SRA-regulated solicitor — and they agree to take on your claim, that partner will charge their own fee. Typically this is a success fee payable only if your claim is successful. The exact fee will be disclosed to you in writing by the partner firm before you agree to instruct them.

Fees Are Capped

Fees charged by our panel partners for financial services claims are capped by regulation:

  • FCA-authorised claims management companies are subject to the FCA's fee cap rules under CMCOB 5 (the exact cap depends on the redress awarded);
  • SRA-regulated solicitors set their own success fee under a Conditional Fee Agreement (CFA), typically up to 30% plus VAT, disclosed in writing before you sign.

Whichever type of partner you are referred to, they are required to disclose their fees, the applicable cap (where one applies), and any other charges before you enter into any agreement with them.

If your claim is not successful, you will not be charged a success fee by the partner firm.

14-Day Cooling-Off Period

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, when you enter into a contract with a panel partner at a distance (online, by phone, or by email), you have a statutory right to cancel that contract within 14 days of entering into it, without giving a reason and without charge — provided the partner has not yet carried out any work at your express request during that period.

The partner firm we refer you to must provide you with written information about your cancellation rights before you sign any agreement. You should exercise your cancellation right directly with them, not with Blue Claims.

Cancellation After the 14-Day Period

If you cancel your claim after the 14-day cooling-off period, or if you asked the partner firm to begin work within that period and then cancel, you may be required to pay a cancellation or termination fee for work already carried out. The details of any such fee will be set out in your written agreement with the partner firm before you agree to proceed.

Referral Fee to Us

When we refer you to one of our panel partners, that partner pays us a referral fee. This fee is not passed on to you and does not affect the amount of compensation you receive.

Your Right to Claim for Free

You do not need to use a claims management company or a solicitor to pursue a car finance claim. You can complain directly to your lender for free and, if you are not satisfied with the outcome, escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service at no cost. Using a panel partner does not necessarily mean your claim will be resolved more quickly or with a better prospect of success.
